Newfane NY | Who are they? If they are her Mom and Dad and they have asked your wife to be POA, then do it.
There is no "talking through" needed. They have trust in your wife to do the rite thing and have placed that trust in your wife. Just do it and give some peace to her Mom and Dad
Also do not forget the Health Care Proxy. The person with the POA will have to sign one for each location they are in ie hospital, nursing home and even changing floors in the same hospital. At least that is how it is in New York Shumer State.
