IL
I will be in touch!
I'm not totally new to cover crops. For years and years, my dad would have fields lay fallow for year. seed oats in the spring with white sweet clover. harvest the oats, clover would be oat head high... greenage. Let the clover grow the next year, and either moldboard plow under in spring ( would be as tall as the tractor) or let grow thru the year to harvest seed, and let the roots really go to china.
I was glad to get away from the sweet clover because it was a bear to get back into production that first yr. ( stayed wet, brushy stems), But it really did help the ground. I have been reaping the benefits from those yrs and it has been 20 yrs since clover has grown here.
These new CC's look to be more comercial farm friendly
