N.E. MO | As a side note, Dixie was stolen last winter. Six weeks went by. Got a phone call from a super nice lady in American Falls, ID who was the animal control officer. That is 130 some-odd miles from my shop where she was taken. Said she had been around town eating garbage, etc for about three weeks and looked too thin to tranquilize, so she spent three hours coaxing her to come to her. Still had her tag on with our phone number, so I'm guessing she got away from the culprits before they had a chance to remove it. The lady took a liking to her and took her home to fatten up, rather than to the pound where she worked. She refused payment of any sort. I guess there are still some good folks out there, and I sure was happy to make the drive to get Dixie back. | |
