Maybe their dealer practice varies by area. At least our in the plains, their pattern has been to move to equipment dealers. The phrase "it's just business" is accurate.....they are just chasing volume. Whatever makes them the most money wins.

I too wonder about the Pioneer reps and the new relationship to Monsanto. I've not heard any official policy about eliminating them. I think it will just happen that way out of necessity. Honestly, a lot of seedsmen just want to work on meters. It adds value to their business. A lot of seedsmen don't want to dabble in the new Precision products anyway. They'll eventually get weeded out with the narrowing margins on the older products.
