I'm 19 and carry a buck knife and a folding utility knife. I've carried a knife as long as I can remember. Just couldn't take it to school. The buck knife is basically a "pry bar/flat head screwdriver" since they're so hard to keep sharp and the tip is broke. The folding utility knife is simple to keep sharp. Just chuck another blade in it and you're good to go.
