I would like to see every Youth with the Physical and Mental qualifications serve this country.

I am ashamed of some of the responses to this thread. Most are probably too dense or taken with their selves to realize what they have posted in this thread.

My Grandfathers were too young for the Spanish American War, and too old for WW II. Both were told to go home and contribute there.

Now I am from a Quaker Background that is against all violence. Yet a number of Cousins and Uncles volunteered for WW II. and served. As far as I know all who served, also survived.
As far as I know none of my relations spoke harshly about my service in the AF as a B-52 Crew Member.

Here is a family tradition I will repeat again.
Grandfather Wilson found someone in the house stealing. He casually mentioned the following.
Friend thee knows I would not hurt thee for the world.
But thee is standing where I am about to shoot.

I have his 12 gage double barreled shotgun. My very peaceful daughter had that with her at College, and she kept it under the bed, & when living alone.
