North of London | For those who do not think they ever need to pump out the solids there are 2 possibilities.
If you have a proper system you will have to replace at least the weeping bed much sooner than you will like because it will fill with solids and quit leeching the water away.
2nd possibility, this is more likely with older systems, and that is that it is not a proper contained system and your sewage is going directly into a field tile or discharging into the roadside ditch.
New neighbour next door found out that the system at his place was tied into field tile when the tile plugged up and a rain caused everything to back up and flooded his basement. Entry was through the septic tank and it brought a little extra with the water. | |
