EC Kansas | Should not need fertilizer for beans, but you may want to soil test to be sure.
Bean seed will run about $35/acre plus treatment at $12/unit, so figure about $50 for seed. Seed will depend on your supplier.
One burn down on the grass before planting, $4.5/acre application (what our coops charge) plus material, estimate $6-7 so figure $12 until confirmed with your supplier or applicator.
Planting around here is $16, that is what the local coops charge.
At least one and probably two more Roundup apps if it rains. Another $12-25/acre.
At this point, preharvest costs will be in the $100-110/acre range.
Harvest will depend on your local custom rates, but figure $20-25/acre plus $.20-.25/bushel for bushels over 20 per acre plus $.20/bushel for hauling.
Yield depends on rain. Who knows.
Corn, add $15-25/acre for seed, again talk to your local seed guys, and add at least $120/acre for fertilizer, subject to soil tests and recommendations by your local coop agronomist.
Harvest costs about the same for budgeting purposes but check with a few farmers or custom guys in your area. | |
