The scraping action at the bottom of a disc is the same no matter what depth you run it. You are just putting the compaction at different depths. Soil type and moisture levels may vary by depth causing some difference but the physics are the same regardless of depth. Soil moisture is likely higher in the spring which would make things more likely to compact.

But the physics are different with less weight on the disks and more on the wheels. Therefore, you are saying that a VT implement putting as much weight as possible on the straight/angled blades compact less than a disk blade floating through the soil.
