History/English major here. I remember learning the Latin America civilizations stored grain in below ground silos and the grain would ferment and the people would drink it...studs. They also had some complex irrigation systems. The agricultural revolution dramatically increased "carrying capacity" for lack of a better word. Also, some people may work harder in the fields, but then you have "managers" and such that rise higher in society that don't labor as hard as a hunter would have in the past, or a current field worker. The beginning of job related classes perhaps?
