West Chazy, New York
A side note; most of the hunter/gatherer groups studied relied on plant foods for about 70% of their total calories. Since most of the hunting was done by men and most of the gathering was done by women, the women were actually much more important to the group's survival than the men. Of course, most of the protein came from meat and the men probably provided more of the protection, but day to day survival was based on finding roots and berries.
