Mines a Mossberg cruiser with the door buster spiked end on it. Everyone told me mossbergs were junk, but this thing has never failed to shoot, even when it is really dirty from riding around in the pickup. A friend of mine bought a JIC without the door buster end, or the strap that goes around your hand on the pump, and his bucks more when you shoot it. 18" is legal here, unless you pay the $200 tax at the courthouse, then you can make'em as short as you want. The barrel on my cruiser is 18.5"

If I had to pick a #1 shotgun over a remington 870, I'd probably go Mossberg 500/590 - I've heard they're also a popular military shotgun.
