You have mentioned several varieties that I have not heard of. I have only until your post heard of oil seed radishes and tillage radishes.

From you definitions I have to assume that for conditioning the soil for better crop returns on following crops that the tillage radish is the better choice because of their deeper roots and tubers.

I ordered some tillage radishes from a place in PA last summer, but when they came they came from IN. I mixed them with Potash and spread them on Aug 31 on some low ground wheat stubble I have and went part way up the hill. It has been very dry here and the higher ground did not grow but on the lower ground I have a very nice stand. I pulled one a couple weeks ago and it was about 6 or 7 inches long.

I plan on planting no-till corn there next spring.

I am wondering where they did not grow will they sprout next spring and if they do what is needed to control them.

Corn and bean harvest is late enough that I am wondering if there is a way to utilize them after corn and beans.
