A disc is used in construction to mix soil types so it can be packed uniformly. It is not used to pack the soil. That is what a sheepfoot packer is for.
I do have some concern for the VTs that have more than a 10 degree angle on the blades. Smearing may occur. Some angle is good though, to throw a little soil to anchor the trash from blowing.
