Subject: Re: Can anything stop this land market???

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska
I was in high school in the seventies so kind of remember some of that time. I remember Dad bidding on some land and running it up to $125.00/acre and not getting it and the neighbors thought that was plenty high. That was around 1972. I know of land in the mid to late '60's that sold in the $50-75 dollar area. By the end of the 70's land was selling for $5-600/acre at the peak. By the mid '80's it had dropped in half and took about 10 years to recover back to $600 where it stayed for about another 10 years then started going up pretty fast after 2004 or 5. Now that same land is selling for around $2,000.
