NC IA | Being a union worker (or ex-union worker) has nothing to do with not taking a job when on unemployment. Plenty of non-union workers are on the same plan, use unemployment welfare to the bitter end, when it runs out most miraculously find a job, and quickly. It is a sad, sad system. I had this conversation with my wife the other day, I said that in order to get unemployment benefits you should have to "work" to recieve them. Community service, road crew maintainence, litter pickup, bridge painting, park tending, etc. Heck I'll even throw in postal work in there. Cut the govt workforce in half and let the people on unemployment make up the slack. Like a temp worker program. There, that should ruffle plenty of feathers. | |
