Bought a new Westfield auger a couple years ago that did that. Would shear bolts even when empty. "NATer" send us an e-mail saying what the problem was. Gearbox was misaligned, brackets welded in wrong, allowing the swing auger to rub. Finally got our dealer to put in a new swing auger & problem was solved. Probably haven't sheared more than 2-3 bolts since then.
