I've had several NH TR's over the years and they are indeed a good combine.  If you have a NH dealer close by, don't hesitate to go with a TR86.  I went from an 85 to a 97 this year.  As far as straw goes, both CIH and NH do the same job of chewing it up, so you may as well go NH.   The twin rotor is better than the single rotor.  If you have one rotor, it dumps all the threshed grain to one side of the sieve.

Uh oh, prepare for attacks from all the other rotary combine owners.

I have a TR86 and like it very much. Have had a TR70 and 85 in the past. I did some oats and barley with my 86 a few years back and it did chew up the straw a little more than I've seen with the cylinder machines. No worse than the CaseIH though, and my TR86 has the S3 rotor which is more aggressive than a standard 1460 rotor.
