Thanks or the info guys, I wanted to see if I understood the it right lots of expert advise on this site I am educated daily. I think that we get hung up on pH levels and don't take into consideration that other nutrients maybe affecting the pH levels . You cannot/ should not make a lime recommendation based on pH levels.


pH levels are directly affected by the use of Ag Lime, and all the reccomendations we make come from the level of the pH in the soil. Our soils here can range from a 7.5pH level to a 5.0pH level in one single field and you can see how pH levels affect yield, fert. use efficiency, herbicides etc...



JR1028 Just to be clear I understand that high or low pH soil have it effect on crop yield. I also believe that the reason for high or low pH is nutrient levels/base saturation low cal high mg low sulfur ect.
