| There is not a quick or easy solution to poorly fitting lower dentures where there is not much for bone support. The problem is that the tooth supporting bone, called alveolar bone, is lost over time when there are no teeth present. If there are no teeth for a long time, then the ridge is basically flat -- which is very poor for supporting dentures.
Implant support is usually a good option, but there needs to be enough bone to place the implants and the patient has to be able to tolerate the (minor) placement surgery. | |
