| Agree 100% with previous posters. Emergence is a huge factor in finding a good corn on corn hybrid because the young plant needs to push through the trash to emerge. You should also consider the disease potential from doing corn on corn ie. goss's wilt. Rootworms could play a huge role in reducing yields if they are prevalent in your area too, consider a trait package to combat them. In my corn on corn acres, I generally see a 8-12 bu yield loss on m y corn on corn acres. I'm ok with that because overall profit per acre is higher with corn on corn even with that yield loss. | |
