Texas/New Mexico Stateline
Barely = adverb: only just; scarcely; no more than; almost not: He had barely enough money to pay for the car.

Barley = noun: a widely distributed cereal plant belonging to the genus Hordeum, of the grass family, having awned flowers that grow in tightly bunched spikes, with three small additional spikes at each node.

Our wheat scarcely and almost did not emerge, now it is dying. It is hard red winter wheat. Though some guys have found a loophole in the crop insurance and are planting BARLEY to get a bigger check.

I'm not trying to be a smart ... just having a little fun with you. Need something to lighten up this depressing drought.
