SE Wyoming | I have the unique experience to see everyday the differences between a 2011 Ford F350 SRW diesel, a Dodge 3500 DRW Cummins, and a few 2012 F350 SRW gas engines. All crew cabs. First off the mileage is better on the gas pickups. All three weigh a little over 10,500 lbs and get between 13-14 mpg. The Ford Diesel gets 12.5 all day everyday weighs abouth the same. The Dodge weighs in around 8500 lbs and gets a solid 11.5 all the time. The Fords are much more comfortable to ride in and drive. The Dodge rides a bit smoother than the Ford Diesel, but not as good as the gas ones. As far as power... I was surprised too. The gas engines will just about run away from the diesels. It defies all odds, but anyone is welcome to ride along and see. | |
