Subject: Probably not worth it, but.....

Schomberg, Ontario, Canada
I have a nice 1985 Freightliner tractor with a bunk on it. Our safety laws are changing here, and all wheels have to be pulled for a safety inspection and drums measured after next July. I was going to get a trailer for this tractor eventually, but now am thinking of maybe a box and hoist on it. I could get a nice sucker blower body for it, and not have to buy a pto sucker for emptying bins. I have about 15' of frame from the rear of the cab back, so I could likely get an 18' body on it. Is it worth the cost of doubling up the frame and doing the work for putting a body on this?? The frame on this truck is mint, whereas most older double frame trucks up here are spreading with rust. The truck has only 500, 000 km on it. I could set it up for a pup down the road as well. Thanks for the input.
