If you believe most of what is written on the internet( and we know that everything on here is true), the world economy is controlled by a few individuals with the wealth and power to do so. I do not completely agree with this, but it is a popular conspiracy theory, and conspiracy theories abound in the gold market circles as well. Given that, and assuming that most of these individuals are in the west, not Asia, and assuming that the Chinese are not in on the secret, why would they allow such a vast transfer of wealth to occur from the west to the east, by allowing/facilitating gold to appreciate? Could it be that the powers that be have other plans, and China's attempt to get around foreign currency depreciation may backfire? I don't prescribe to either theory, but I can see where they contradict each other. If that makes any sense?
