Some folks get enjoyment from the security of not having to answer to anybody(like a banker) and the freedom to do as they please.

Not everybody is in love with the 'latest and greatest'.

Myself, I get a kick out of seeing how to raise a crop with the lowest cost of production. ANYONE can raise a good crop if you are willing to spend a lot.

Like you said, to each their own. It would be an awful boring world if everyone thought the same.
