Morris, Mb.
I think conventional farmers need to improve their communication to the public about why we do things.

My wife's brother and his wife and their friends were always giving me a hard time about my crop production practices and how I should switch to Organic production. One day I happened to see some organic whole wheat at their place and noticed it was loaded with fusarium. I asked if I could have a sample, not mentioning that I saw fusarium in it. I sent the sample to the Canadian Grain Commission as well as a sample of my own wheat. There "organic" wheat came back with 15% fusarium and really ppm of DON. Mine was under .25% fusarium and low DON levels. I sent them and their friends the two analysis from CGC and told them to look up what DON is and how it affects you. I then explained why I use conventional crop production methods and how they help with food quality and security. I think they now have a better idea of why I do what I do.
