Rolla, ND | I kind of cringe whenever someone says they want the best. Best for what? Are you trying to maximize tomato production or learning?
Kind of depends on what you want to teach.
One big problem in a lot of ag classes I see is that they spend a lot of time on production but very little on marketing.
If you are into hydroponics, the big thing is finding a profitable market.
In any case, I would say it would be more educational to have several small, different systems for students to see and learn how they are different than one big system which you and the janitor are going to keep going.
I'd say several small systems and some sort of contest would get them more into it than one big system. Let's them vary things, pump cycle, fertlizer mix, temperature, etc. | |
