Subject: 2310 Mulch finisher

We traded off our 726 for a 2310 mulch finisher and hate it, i think there is something wrong with it, my dad wants to get ride of it. My question is for the guys that own one. When the shovels are in the ground 2-3 in how deep are the disks in the ground? Ours has to have the shovels in the ground 4 in to get the disks to be in 1 in. That is with the disks all the way down, if we put it at 2-3 in like we would like to run the disks are skipping across the ground. We had JD come and look at it level it, and said that is how it is supose to be. Any info would be great. If we get rid of it we will be buying s sunflower 6333-30. Thanks!!
