Madison, Mississippi | Years ago when plowing the beans or cotton, before everything was Rn'dup Ready and No-till, after a good lunch and around 2 pm.....when my eyelids would get heavy, and my head would start noding was always about the time cultivator blight would strike and a few feet of crop would suddenly wilt or disappear.
It was a 4 row cultivator so the "blight" did not hurt yields too bad and could aways blame that thin spot on a lightning strike.
Then it was time for a cold splash of water in the face or a 10 min nap slumped over the steer wheel before dad saw tractor sitting still.
If I could just get past 2:30 I was good to go till quitting time. |
