central - east central Minnesota -

Through the late 60's, 70's and 80's we plowed hundreds of acres of snow down . . . . Sometimes deep snow, 8 -12 inchs deep plowed under, mixed in the soil.
Chisels plowed snow and ripped down snow . . . never disked any snow down, as it would surely plug with snow/dirt between the blades.
This questions generally comes up every fall, on NAT -
Been thinking about it, and wonder if some southern fellow had an experence with plowing down a freak snow, then it warmed up and planted some small grain or something right after plowing and the snow may have froze the ground so it didn't come up ? Guessing here?
Plowing or ploughing snow under doesn't hurt the soil, or following crops . . ..
