Newdale, Manitoba, Canada | We don't treat the last 50 bushels or so. That way, the last 50 bushels helps to clean out the augers, hoppers, meters, etc. Lots of farmers use the same auger for treated seed, fertilizer, grain, etc. and don't have problems, just make sure the auger is clean! Clean the intake end by hand, brush, water etc. Then run the auger with the intake end in a water trough to help clean it some more...
I've been told by a flour processor that the seed treatment stops working after a certain time anyway. After that time, it's essentially dye. They will actually buy wheat contaminated with treated seed. They then seal the bin for a specified time (must be a CFIA or PMRA rule). Then dump it into the grinder!
