I love George on the radio, but went to see him at the MGM in Vegas and ended up leaving. In all fairness to George, the venue may have had something to do with it. I've never been so uncomfortable in my life!


Same here. Saw him and his opening act Ronnie Milsap a few years ago in Memphis. Ronnie Milsap had one of the best concerts I've ever been to and George Strait was about the worst. He sounded horrible, and didn't do much to get the crowd into it. I know just standing there and singing is his thing but he wasn't even doing that very well. Sang a few of his older songs but mostly sang his newer stuff which sounds like it was written by a dying man with little time left to live. Anytime I hear his newer stuff come on I immediately change it. I always think back to all the great songs he had and now they all sound alike.. My wife says he sounds like he's been castrated and has no life left in him. I tend to agree.
