Places that depend on generators running whether a few KW or a MW run them once a week. For home and farm once every month or two is a good idea. So using the generator as a "gasoline" extension cord for the electric chain saw and the sawzall is good for them. The little garden tractor batteries need a battery maintainer every month or they don't last the winter.
