In some parts of the country in wheat growing regions winter rye is considered an invasive weed which is difficult to control. Combines have been doing a good job of seeding cereal grains for years. You could also seed it with an airplane and get a good crop.


Exactly. A good way to raise rye around here is to not control the volunteer rye that comes up. Not enough moisture for a cover crop here, so we plant winter wheat and leave the stubble until spring.
