Ashburn, GA, (very close to Heaven!) | Well, we focus on the top 6, sometimes 8 inches to sample and fertilize based on data of managing that zone. It sounds like you could use an auger system of some kind! There are times I need that, too, believe me, and some leading consultants down here use those. There are some arguements that the uniformity of a core surpasses any uniformity you can get with an auger, but I am just not sure that applies in a tight, clay type soil, frozen soil, or marsh like you describe, or some of the "clay galls" we farm through in some of our fields down here. |
