Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463 | Have owned a White 2-155 since 1978, it was new. The 2-155 is pretty much the same tractor, just about 20 hp hotter setting on the injection pump.
And I got a 1977 model 2-135 in 2008. Biggest reason was to put my loader on. Previous loader tractor had a dash area fire. Also to spray with 120" rear wheel tread.
Troubles:
Engine overhaul on the 2-155, probably the late 1980s. They said I burned the pistons, pulling it down too far. And they put a pryometer on it. Marked at 1200. I never could get it too 1200.
Injection pump problems in the mid 80s. Ended up with a rebuilt one.
A clutch about the same time.
Engine problems with the head about 2005.
A new hydraulic pump sometime, can't remember when.
At the present time it is in the shop for a new clutch, been out and the tractor has not done any field work since 2008.
Also injection pump work, leaks.
It needs paint and a cab insides.
But as the Kooikers said, "You have got some darn good rubber on there".
No problems with the 2-135. It has pretty darn good rubber also.
I have been very happy with both of them.
I also have a pretty good looking Deere 4630 powershift. The 4630 is a great grain cart tractor!
Also it drives down the road nice.
Other than those two things, I would just as soon use the Whites.
Sure would like to have a 2-180. Would have the full set then.
