Forever eight
Just four years ago.
Infinite pain
No parent should know.
You loved life so much
In your eyes we could see.
Yet you were taken away.
Why could that be?
The gaping hole in my heart
Can only compare
To the laughter and smiles
You were willing to share.
Showing you all the animals,
The birds and the trees.
Nothing even comes close
To what you taught me.
Now you're flying with angels
When here you couldn't walk.
What do you say
Since now you can talk?
Do you tell of your friends
And the teachers you had.
How we all miss you,
Especially your dad.
Please tell Jesus
It just isn't right
That Dad can no longer tuck in
His sweet son at night.
I can imagine you bouncing in the clouds
Like on our trampoline that was blue,
Helping out the baby angels
Who are smaller than you.
Riding horses with your brother and sister
In heaven.
Not a day goes by,
I don't wish you were seven.
You are my son,
Still my little man.
I am your daddy,
Dealing the best that I can.
