Winkler, Manitoba Canada | I do not see a significant problem with what you want to do. Plan out how you want to accomplish the task safely. Run only when road conditions are good. I usually add weight to the truck, put a flashing beacon on truck, add clearance lighting/flags on cultivator, safety chains, bring along spare tires , tools etc. to try to be able to address any issues that come up. I would keep my speed down. Implement tires are not rated for high speed. I have hauled a Ford 251 disc (13000lbs. +) over 500 miles crossing the QuAppelle Valley on the way, a JD 36' 730 seeding tool over 100 miles, a Co-op 35' 807 deep tiller about 80 miles, all without incident, other than being stopped and receiving a warning from the RCMP in Saskatchewan. This was all behind a gasser 1995 3/4 ton Chev pickup. All of these implements were significantly heavier than a 36' field cultivator. Just be courteous and avoid distractions like cell phones. You will need to make the call on whether the risk is acceptable. | |
