| I have an older Dickey John - not a MiniGAC. I agree - I like to take 3 readings for each sample, recognizing that I most likely will not get 3 identical readings. If I get 3 consistant readings, I am happy. I will also say that anytime I take a sample to a mill to have moisture measured on a certified scale, they only read it once. Knowing what I encounter with my hand-held, I wonder if the mills realize that if they read the sample 3 times, they may not get the same reading each time. And THAT would destroy farmer confidence in the readings. So, they just make one reading...... Hmmmmm...... Husker, since you have MiniGac's, I am curious: how high can the corn moisture be and still get a consistent reading with a mini-Gac? I have need to run samples as high as 35%. I find that the higher the moisture, the harder it is to get consistent readings. What do you find with the mini-GAC? |
