| Depends on the age and use of the tank. If it was a fairly new tank and cracked because of abuse then I'd want a new tank. Older tank and wasn't abused by the borrower (no visible dings, etc)? Stuff happens. I'm guessing that the tank was older and he probably saved you from having it fail on YOU at a time you really needed it and possibly had it filled with something more expensive than water. If someone needed to borrow an old pickup from me and something expensive broke while they were using it I'd probably apologize for loaning them a piece of junk rather than demand it be replaced with a new truck. Fairness would be somewhere in the middle- both sides apologizing and meeting somewhere reasonable. But hey, we're Canadian, eh? | |
