| Vaseline helps protect the skin even with cracked fingers.
Wash your hands with lukewarm water. Hot water will dehydrate your skin.
And don't wash too often, or protect with vaseline after each time.
Change soap to one that's fragrance-free with moisturizer. Many soaps are just too harsh.
Use vaseline overnight too, with light cotton gloves.
Don't mix up different lotions or creams or oils, stick to the one that works best.
Wear gloves in winter, and plastic gloves if you are dealing with water.
And drink more water, as already mentioned.
Try one of these Aquaphor products for healing the cracks, then stick to vaseline to prevent them.
