I had heard the same thing as well. At that time, Trimble was gobbling up precision ag companies left and right. Greenseeker, Rawson, Tru-Count to name a few and I believe they wanted to set themselves up to be the "Microsoft" of precision ag. They wanted more direct access to AL technology and Al didn't want to go that far with them.

I too could not agree more in that their partnership was a perfect match. Too bad though. It has been interesting to watch them both since then and see where they position themselves. Still too early say which one will come through as the true leader. Stay tuned as it will get more interesting as precision ag keeps expanding and venturing into newer areas of production!
