SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ | tw usually doesn't vary much in beans. All it does it add to confusion when looking at plots, I catch myself looking at TW column sometimes and thinking its the yield column. I normally don't even write down TW on beans.
Even TW on corn can cause confusion on plots because the dryer the corn is the higher the TW. So you can;t compare 15% corn to 21% corn TW unless you give it some fudge factor. Its the TW at 15% that matters if you want to compare apples to apples.
Soybeans breeders want yield and don;t focus on TW or seed size for that matter. Both are irrelevent to yield. | |
