Subject: I don't understand the rationale behind selecting optional unit crop insurance?

SD/ND/FL
I'm relatively new to this game, but enterprise units seem like a no-brainer to me. While I would like each of my fields to yield great, all I really care about is the total revenue of all the fields.

Last year, I selected 80% enterprise units and I believe the cost was a little less than 75% optional units. If farmers had operating notes on each field, then optional units would definitely be the way to go. But when all we should really care about is the performance of the enterprise, why pay more for optional units?

Are there hard numbers out there that I don't know about that show the long-term cost (premium less indemnity) to be less for optional units? If so, please post a link so I can learn from the data
