Why would anyone conduct a study based on 38" rows? I can't even think of anyone using 38" rows that is still farming. I'm sure there is someone somewhere. It was established long ago that 30" rows yielded better than 38"s so this study by Monsanto doesn't tell me much. When they do a study with 30" rows I'll look at the data.

Iowa State did a twin-row test for a few years but didn't see enough difference to continue.
