Humeston, IA
Timed/diamond spaced twin rows - does it make a difference? Let's say you are planting approximately 34,800, or in 30" rows, one seed every 6". In twin rows, each unit of the pair would drop a seed every 12".

If the rows were not timed to offset their seed drop, the worst case scenario (seeds dropped exactly across from each other) would be 7.5" away. If they were dropped exactly in an offset (diamond) patern, each plant would be about 9.6" apart (6" ^2 + 7.5" ^2 = 92.25. Square root of that is about 9.6"),

Is 2.1" difference a big deal? I don't know, just asking...
