| I just got a call from one of our landlords saying that they have quite a bit of CRP that's going to need mowed in the next month before it can be reenrolled. There is a total of about 600 acres that needs the trees and thistles mowed so I was thinking of going with an hourly rate. In the past we've charged $10/acre for mowing CRP with a 15' batwing but that was avoiding trees, with the trees needing mowed and higher fuel costs I was thinking no less than $15/acre. If a person could mow 6 acres/hour that would be equal to $90 per hour so would that be a fair rate. I don't want to over charge our landlords but at the same time they've been getting $5/acre for several years for maintance on the CRP ground so it's not our problem if they haven't done something before now. | |
