It depends on the feed availability and if the calves in question are trained to hot wire. They won't have any trouble getting on the sunflowers. When we have run cattle on flowers they will scour the ground in the sunflower field before they will go to the corn field that has downed corn in it. As long as the calves don't get hungry they probably will be good with a two wire fence.
