Southeastern Wyoming | I have some 600 lb calves and was wondering what you all think about putting them out on sunflower stalks and supplement them with maybe some protein licks if they start to look too bad. I heard that their frame will grow and they might start to look kind of skinny but they will take off when they get out on green grass. After the winter is over and grass starts to green up I would put them out on that and when they reach 900-1000 lbs I would start dumping a good ration to them and butcher at about 1300 lbs...what do all you think? thanks
